"Style is the only thing you can’t buy. It’s not in a shopping bag, a label, or a price tag. It’s something reflected from our soul to the outside world—an emotion.” We decided to start our blog with this wonderful and meaningful quote from Alber Elbaz, who was the creative director of Lanvin House in Paris. These words have created the fuel need to explore the perception of style and fashion in general, what impact it will leave behind in the modern world and how perspective has changed in the last years. One exception stands out: style is something that exists in you, you just have to develop it, learning from your own experiences, to identify your lifestyle and to start embracing it. All this sounds good, but where to start, you ask. We, at Orilabo Project, decided to share with you our 5 principles, which we apply when creating "our own" universal wardrobe. The ideas and, most importantly, the values, that will never go out of fashion.
"Style is a way to say who you are without having to speak"
1. Quality over quantity
This principle lays deep in the philosophy of our brand. Create a wardrobe, which consists of 2-3 key pieces which are timeless for seasons to come. So next time, you feel a strong desire to buy that trendy new crewneck, which you might only wear for a season, stop yourself and intead, search for those lasting pieces, paying close attention to color, cut, fit, texture and fabric. One timeless piece is worth 10 seasonal ones. We know it and mean it!

2. Authenticity
This principle exists within us all. You do not have to follow classy or street styles, if you can´t identify yourself with them. Instead, you can create your own unique look, through a combination of the two. Ask yourself: "What do I value the most?", write it down,, think about it and then start searching for those key pieces.
3. Versatility
The key element of any timeless wardrobe. Choose matching, mixable pieces, providing you with a strong foundation. This will enable you to combine outfits for any occasion. But versatility doesn´t necessarily equal boring. Find your own perspective of versatile pieces and let your imagination run wild.
4. Style over fashion
You can get excited about fashion trends, but choose only the ones that fit and reflect your personality. Always remember: "Fashion is what you're offered four times a year by designers. And style is what you choose."
5. Form and function
Last, but not least, this principle is the understanding of the function of every piece. Whether its the aesthetically pleasing jeans, which don´t fit you well or the qualitative shoes, which are not comfortable, keep in mind - you won´t wear it. The main rule is that you must feel comfortable and at ease in your own clothes.
